This will offer continuous connectivity where generally commercial communications fails to provide the services. It should be able to automatically recover where the signal connections are broken due to manmade objects, weather conditions and other environmental effects. SATCOM (communication of satellites), originally developed by RCA Americom , was referred as the group of Satellite Communication and was one of the geostationary satellites. First Geostationary which came into force for syncom- was in 1964. Then in 1975, came the Satcom satellite series. SATCOM 1 was widely used by the TV broadcasters for communicating their programs. It is one of the artificial satellites which are used for the communication purposes which reflect signals to the space and then back towards earth. It covers wider areas then the radio signals. Through this the communication could be done in any mode like via pictures sharing, words and other form of information’s.
Modern Military operations are highly secured and confidential which should not be revealed to any outsiders or civilians. Due to which they require a system which provides them with the secured communication channels. On the global front SATCOM provides flexible services which offer enthralling solutions for the Military users. There links are amplified with commercial services particularly DAMA (Demand Assigned Multiple Access), which provides total control to the user for the space link. When it is implemented in theatres, SATCOM provides a terrain uncontrolled communications, formative networking and a direct link for the destination without the help of the relays of the radios.
Further enhancements which they are looking for the deployment of the global communication grid which could support the military at the war front, which enables the flexible command and also can control the work of the tasks force in anywhere in the world. In contemporary years, the United States of Defence has depicted their interest in the in SATCOM move technology. They prefer some light weight equipments which could be carried easily and must be more movable on the grounds. This requirement has forced the commercial organizations of satellites to provide a communication which will support the need of our defence forces. Due to large amount of investments in for the development of the satellites many of the organizations have decided or are planning to outsource the development of the satellites. In UK, one of the private players is being considered for the development purpose.
